General update...
Well, its been another couple months and I should probably post something to keep this blog alive. The lack of posts has mostly been due to the lack of interesting things happening to post about. The one exception this time around is the two weeks I spent in SoCal over Christmas/New Years.
I actually did take a full two weeks away from Ithaca, and I didn't take a scrap of work with me. It was a family reunion of sorts, with all of my Dad's side of the family there - 14 cousins and a total of 24 people. It was well worth it to see everyone there. Living 1500+ miles from the closest of them, its easy to forget how nice it is to actually interact with family. We didn't do too much exciting enough to report on a blog. Some of us went up to the beach one day, there was a mini golf outing, etc., but mostly it was just laying low.
It turns out my role here at Cornell has shifted from educatee to educator this semester. I'm TAing a sophomore design course where they actually make stuff in the machine shop, so I get to make use of my experience there. I have my own section of 28 students that I get to guide through the semester, teach them how to use the machine tools, etc. However, its a pretty time intensive course to TA, so I decided to refrain from taking any courses myself this time around. Technically, I think I could be completely done with courses now, but there are some I might end up taking anyway.
At this point, I don't have any big plans for either spring break or the summer. Hopefully I can use conferences (or anything else!) as an excuse to get around the country or the world at some point.
